Journal entry for June 1, 2023

I’m back from walking the Cape Wrath Trail! Three weeks of wonderful Highlands nature, many ticks, and a few midges.

I did some note taking about programming with objects/identity/user intention/causality while on the trail and I’ve been experimenting with FRP implementation. I’m not entirely sure where I’m going with that. I’d need good test cases to see that what I’m doing is correct, and I’d love to write interactive programs but that is annoying without a good GUI library. Maybe I should stick to “My first C programming book” style CLI programs.

Next week I’ll be attending the GHC Contributors Workshop as well as ZuriHac. This year ZuriHac runs many talks, I’m looking forward to that.
